Test Results
How and when to obtain test results from the surgery
Getting your test results
Depending on the type of test, results are usually available after four to ten days.
It is routine practice for all abnormal results to be actioned immediately by a doctor, and patients either informed or asked to make an appointment. Normal results, once seen by a doctor, are usually passed on to the patient when they phone for the result or at the next consultation.
Sometimes, we cannot always give full results over the phone. If the result is complicated, or if the doctor wants to see you about the result, we will offer you an appointment or telephone call. We will only give results to the person who has had the test.
The Practice holds a phlebotomy clinic (blood clinic) every morning, from 9am until 12.15pm.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
